Mizuno Half Marathon
The Mizuno Half Marathon is the biggest Half Marathon of the Netherlands and is part of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, The entry fee is € 31.00.
The Mizuno half marathon consists of one loop, most of which passes through the attractive centre of Amsterdam. The course starts at the Stadionweg and goes through Churchilllaan, Rijnstraat and the Utrechtse Bridge over the Amstel river. You then run through Watergraafsmeer and Zeeburg. The rest of the course is same as that of the full marathon.
The course leads the participants through Amsterdam’s city centre and passes many highlights, which would also be worth a separate sightseeing tour. Some of the most attractive sights are the:
Start and finish
The starting areas are inside the Olympic Stadium. After entrance through the marathon gate you will be directed to your starting area. Each starting area corresponds with an expected finish time. The colored bib number corresponds to your permitted starting area.
The marathon gate opens at 8.15 hrs. You must be on the field by 9.15 hrs at the latest. After this time the entrance to the stadium will be closed. There are various toilets in the starting area.
No clothing can be left in the stadium. Any clothing left in the stadium will be removed the moment the race starts.
Participants will finish at the Olympic Stadium, just in front of the VIP seats. At the finish you will receive a medal and a heat sheet. Outside the Olympic Stadium you will receive a bottle of ISOSTAR, fruit. After crossing the finish line, please try to keep moving.
Mizuno half marathon participants should take their place in one of the starting area. These areas are situated in Stadionweg. The areas are accessible via the Stadionplein. Each starting area corresponds with an expected finishing time. If you have not declared an estimated finishing time, you will be automatically placed in the last starting area. The colour of your bib number corresponds to the colour of your starting area.

Limits and clocks Mizuno Half Marathon
The time limit for the Mizuno Half Marathon is 3 hours.If participants fail to run the distance within the specified time they will be asked to board the sweeper vehicle at the 5 km marker. Should you decide to continue the race you do so at your own risk. Remember, the course will be open to traffic again and the water points and medical care points will also be removed.
The following Km-points should be reached at:
• 5 km 14.40 hrs
• 10 km 15.20 hrs
• 15 km 16.04 hrs
• 20 km 16.49 hrs
Time indication and kilometre points
For the Mizuno half marathon there are digital clocks at the 5, 10, 15 and 20 kilometre points. MyLaps will register the marathon’s running times every 5 kilometre. Additional boards will be placed at every kilometre.
There will be a sponge and water station along the route, handing out water and sportsdrink (Isostar) as well as fruit to the marathon runners. Toilet and first-aid facilities will also be available.
