After the summer… comes The TCS Amsterdam Marathon!
06-07-2012If you haven’t already planned a weekend away with your friends or family this autumn, you may want to consider a weekend in Amsterdam during the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, which will take place on Sunday 21 October. It’s a great opportunity to spend time away together. The various distances of the marathon are suitable for every type of runner. For a cultural weekend you have to be in Amsterdam!
Participants from around the world are coming to Amsterdam. It is not often that 90 nationalities gather in the Netherlands for a sporting event. And of course many people travel with their running friend to enjoy a few days in the City of Culture!
Several activities will take place during the TCS Amsterdam Marathon weekend. During the Good Morning City Run on Saturday you can get to know the city at a slow pace with a guide. You can visit the Olympic Experience in the Olympic Stadium and test your Olympic knowledge. You can also visit the 3-day Marathon Expo the latest in running fashion and accessories. And surrounding the event is an extensive entertainment programme that will ensure for a fantastic atmosphere.
The TCS Amsterdam Marathon wishes you a great summer with lots of great running kilometres! And while you’re enjoying the summer, perhaps in a hammock somewhere, think about the largest marathon in the Netherlands!

Still, a fantastic lnarnieg experience Cormac and one that I know you’ll take lessons from.Nothing you can do in the last 2 miles with nutrition; it all happens way before then.I don’t know any marathon runner who is actually thirsty after just 20 minutes, but that is when you should be taking on your first big drink of water. Same for fuel after the first 40-60 minutes.You need to get things into your system way before you feel you need them so that they’re there when you really do need it.
